Hydrogen-on-Demand

It seems we've been lied to. No matter what you may have read in textbooks, been told by teachers or heard from your professors in college, the proof is now conclusive and irrefutable. There are just too many examples. It is now possible to burn ordinary water in any Internal Combustion Engine, Turbine, Furnace, or Torch, processing it into fuel on-demand, in realtime, without the transportation or storage of compressed or liquid Hydrogen, caustic alkalis, catalytic salts, or metal hydrides.

This can be done on-board motor vehicles with a small auxiliary device powered by the vehicle's electrical system, in effect allowing the use of water as fuel.

The combustible gas mixture produced is generated as needed, and not stored aboard the vehicle. This process yields only water vapor as exhaust, which may be easily recovered by means of a radiator/heat exchanger, and recirculated in the engine system if desired.

The Water Fuel Cell, a technology for the efficient conversion of water into a unique combustible fuel gas (known as 'Hydroxy', or "Brown's Gas"), has languished in relative obscurity since the untimely deaths of its inventor (Stanley Meyer), the discoverer of the new gas compound (Dr. Yull Brown) and the theorist who conceived of its production through molecular resonance (Dr. Henry Puharich), all deceased in the mid 1990s. The gas results from an electromagnetic deformation of the ionized water molecule to HHO, in which the Hydrogen atoms are bound magnetically, at less than the 105o separation classically attributed to H2O.

This results in a stronger magnetic polarization of the molecule, whereby it also carries an additional electrical charge, which is recovered upon combustion. While the precise physical mechanism is still being debated, industrial welding equipment using the unique properties of Brown's Gas has been commercially available for over 25 years, removing all doubt as to its existence.

Whereas Hydrogen and Oxygen react hypergolicly (spontaneously, without requiring a source of ignition) when mixed, over a wide range of proportions, Hydroxy is stable and may be used safely in realtime, or stored under compression in cylinders for later use if desired.

Its defining characteristic, however, is its ability to be generated as needed, with an energy expenditure which is far less than that which it yields as burned. While litigation and controversy surrounded Brown, Puharich, and Meyer during their lives, in June of 2007, the fundamental "Methods" patent of Stanley Meyer (US #4,936,961) expires, finally placing this technology into the public domain in the United States.

Why Now?

During their lives, this technology was considered highly controversial, for several reasons. First, at the time, it appeared to contravene the laws of thermodynamics, because no adequate conception of the Zero Point field had yet been accepted. Second, the most advanced instrumentation of the day was insufficient (or too expensive) for them to obtain the data they needed - at the level of single molecules - to prove their case.

Third, no theoretical understanding of the behavior of the Hydrogen atom under extreme electrodynamic stress had yet been put forth which would explain the apparent phenomena they were reporting. Fourth (and perhaps most directly responsible), none were academic professors or corporate scientists accepted among the 'good old boys club' of the mainstream physics community.

Today, a decade later, Casimir-effect devices which draw Zero Point energy from the active vacuum begin to populate the mainstream literature; a solid theoretical foundation has evolved to reconcile the dynamic interchange of this energy with our environment, without a First Law violation.

Contemporary Atomic Force Microscopy/Scanning Tunneling MIcroscopy, techniques with the resolution to differentiate individual atoms, are now broadly available to researchers. Similarly, two original yet rigorous sets of proofs by Dr. Randall Mills and Dr. Rugerio Santilli have established a refreshingly consistent new model of Hydrogen bonding and quantum chemistry which explains numerous anomalies that had bedeviled the prevailing conception for more than a century.

While contemporary theoretical understanding has begun to catch up with their 'anomalous' experimental hardware of decades past, opening the door to its eventual acceptance by the scientific community, our modern world has new demons beyond Maxwell's to contend with.

Three interrelated conditions are cohering in ways which may lead to the end of human civilization, and the possible extinction of our species, this century. First, recent evidence indicates that global warming may have entered a 'runaway' state, due to various positive feedback loops having to do with subsoil deposits of frozen Methane Hydrate in the [rapidly-melting] Arctic permafrost and on the seafloor.

Second, the occurrence of "Peak Oil" - the point of diminishing returns for global petroleum output - may have been reached in November, 2005, and will, in any case, be reached no later than 2027, just 20 years from now. Third, as the recent unpleasantness in the Middle East illustrates, Civilization's Clash with Islamic Fundamentalism is an irreconcilable conflict, likely to lead to World War III, and consequent nuclear Armageddon.

Why Not?

What would it mean if the United States were suddenly subjected to a transformative shift in its energy technology base, through nonlinear, discontinuous, disruptive advancements, to radically better, ubiquitous, abundant, and carbonless fuels?

It would arrest global warming, not only by displacing fossil Carbon, but by facilitating the removal of CO2 from the atmosphere on an industrial scale, as Carbon sequestration is largely an energy problem, albeit one that cannot be solved using Carbon itself as a source of power.

It would allow civilization to be infinitely extensible without environmental danger, not only on Earth, but throughout heliocentric space; the Jovian moon Europa is now believed to host more liquid water than is found in all the oceans on Earth.

It would create millions of new jobs, returning trillions of dollars now wasted overseas on foreign petroleum to productive domestic applications.

Finally, it would neutralize the threat of Islamic fascism, by turning off the spigot of petrodollars which fund terrorism, ultimately rendering the enemy's sole strategic asset obsolete and valueless in the ground where it belongs.
